I had always heard scary things about Guadalajara's reputation. I saw nothing of the kind here. Great town, nice people (every taxi driver I had helped me learn more Spanish with mini lessons during the drive - which is important as there is much less English spoken here than at beach towns).
Beautiful art museum, pictured here.
Wonderful plazas, and churches to visit everywhere.
Travel Tip -
As this is a city at a decent size of 1.5 million, and traffic - especially parking - is as expected, I was smart to leave my car at the hotel, and use cabs everywhere. I now know that I will do this also when I get to Mexico City later this week. Plus, cabs were 70 to 120 pesos - $US 4-7 - each time.
