Paris on a budget

After experiencing Dijon for very little money, I decided to try the same experience in Paris during a short stopover. I intended to spend a day without buying any tickets. And, I succeeded.

I started my day by visiting Parc de Bercy because I had never been there, and who doesn't like a city park with a vineyard!

Then, I visited the free museums of Musee Carnavalet and Musee d'Art Moderne de Paris.

Grabbed a baguette and had lunch in The Tuileries.

Stop in another free art museum at The Petit Palais. Then, walked down the Seine and enjoyed my favorite bridge, Pont Alexandre III plus views of the Eiffel Tower and down to the Ile Des Cygnes (island of swans) to see the largest of Paris' Statue of Liberty.

Ended my day with a visit to historic Pere Lachaise Cemetery.

What a great day, and my largest expense was the $12 that I spent on metro tickets.

I wish I had more time because it turns out there are a ton of free things to do in Paris!!

If you are curious for ideas, I put some of my favorites in my blog under "Paris on the Cheap"
