The museums of Paris

Sept 2nd, 2019 - Stopped into Paris for 3 days, and The City of Lights never disappoints. If you love art, history, and architecture; I don't know a better place in the world. The Palace of Versailles, Louvre, Orangarie, Musee D'Orsay, Pantheon...you can literally spend days looking at great art...I know because I just did! I stopped by Notre Dame also, and it is still beautiful. Feels good that the work is already started to save this gem. Now, I am headed south and currently spending a couple nights in a B&B in a small town (Naujun-et-Postiac) in the Bordeaux Region. After walking in Amiens, Versailles, and Paris all week; I just need a bit of time to rest the feet and legs before heading down to Spain. I haven't decided where yet, but I will likely go down to the North Spanish coast on the Bay of Biscay tomorrow, allowing myself to cover the continent counter-clockwise...eventually getting that beer Shawn suggested in Amsterdam at The Bulldog. The good news is that driving in Europe for most of the time will be shorter travel distances when compared to South America. The bad news is that it is quite expensive to drive here. $6+/gallon for gas and hefty tolls ( just yesterday was nearly $60 in tolls along the A10 motorway) add up fast! But, the roads are in great shape, and I will likely go through less tires here than in South America. A trade off that I will gladly take!
